Sit back and enjoy the scenery as you travel to Southern Vermont and the Horizon Inn.  The inn is tucked into the side of Vermont’s Green Mountains.  During your stay, delight in the beautiful panoramic view of the mountains.

En route, breakfast and lunch are on your own.  Shortly after entering Vermont, you stop at Camelot Village, a cluster of preserved antique dairy barns located on Route 9, the “Gateway to Vermont.”  Here you can choose to spend time browsing in a Craft Center, an Antique Center, Occasional Flowers, The Country Store or Bennington Vintage Sewing.

Upon arrival at the Inn, for a four-night stay, you receive a red carpet greeting and a wine and cheese orientation in the lounge.  Then it’s off to unpack and just enjoy the next few days.  While here, you will take day trips to visit some of the interesting attractions in Vermont, New York State and Massachusetts.  Begin your stay with dinner (included) followed by a musical evening in the Heritage Lounge.

Following breakfast (included), depart for a tour of the Rock of Ages Granite Quarry, the world’s largest granite quarry.  Visit its manufacturing plant and Visitor Center.  Then enjoy a picnic lunch (included).  Next, visit the Hope Cemetery where you see unique and beautiful monuments made from Rock of Ages granite.  You will not see such breathtaking monuments anywhere else.  Then attend a King Arthur Flour instructional baking class and visit its store.  The Baker’s Store offers hard-to-find specialty baking ingredients, tempting recipes and a collection of carefully selected tools and pans.  Enjoy dinner (included) in the Norman Rockwell dining room at the Inn.  Musical entertainment is provided in the Heritage Lounge this evening.

Rise, shine and enjoy a tasty breakfast (included) in the Norman Rockwell dining room!  Following breakfast, depart for New York State for a tour of the famous Fort Ticonderoga and its beautiful King’s Garden, a restored, walled formal garden.  The fort was built by the French in 1755 and played a critical strategic role in both the French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War.  A picnic lunch (included) will be provided.

Then it’s off to enjoy the Suds and Suds tours . . . the Vermont All Natural Soap Factory and the Otter Creek Micro-Brewery.  Dinner (included) will be at the Fire and Ice Restaurant, a Middlebury, VT landmark and named after a Robert Frost poem.  While here enjoy a great meal and all of the nostalgic artifacts.  Return to the Inn where the remainder of the evening is free to swim in the indoor heated pool, relax in the hot tub and/or sauna, play cards, or rest.

Enjoy breakfast (included) at the Inn, then gather for a group photo before heading for a tour of Historic Deerfield, MA.  Here you find beautifully restored 18th and 19th century houses.  The village presents early life along the Deerfield River.  Enjoy a brief but informative slide show orientation, a guided road tour and a picnic lunch (included).  After lunch, you have ample time to tour the village or visit the gift shop.  Next, enjoy a stop at Richardson’s Chocolate Shop.  Then visit the Yankee Candle museum, home center, and winter village, the scenter of the universe.  Return to the Inn for a special last night dinner (included) and a magical evening in the Heritage Lounge.

Following breakfast (included), board the coach for the journey home with fond memories of a vacation to remember and a wish to return.  En route a stop is made at Hogback Mountain, an area with 100 mile scenic views, and a country store.  Lunch is on your own.

The coach will return to New Cumberland at approximately 5:30 P.M., York at 6:00 P.M. and Hanover at 6:45 P.M.
