Join us as we travel to Lake Raystown Resort and Lodge in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. Upon arrival at the resort, a local guide boards the coach for a tour of the property. The tour ends when you arrive at the marina, where you board the “Proud Mary Showboat.” The showboat is a 62-foot custom designed Mississippi-style paddle wheeler with a climate-controlled lower deck and an open air promenade deck. Enjoy lunch (included) as you cruise along Raystown Lake, the “Crown Jewel” of Pennsylvania. The lake, 28 miles in length with 118 miles of shoreline, is the largest man-made lake East of the Mississippi and the largest in the state. As you cruise along, listen to the history of the lake and enjoy the scenic view of the shoreline dressed in fall colors.
Following the cruise, reboard the coach and travel to the Raystown Lake Visitors Center at Seven Points. This is a two-story facility that features an exhibit room with hands-on displays, artifacts unearthed during the construction of the lake, wildlife mounts and then listen to stories about each time period in history. The Visitor Center has a gift shop, a large lobby with comfortable seating and a beautiful view of the lake.
Coach returns to Capital City Airport at approximately 5:30 P.M., York at 6:00 P.M. and Hanover at 6:45 P.M.
The coach will make a fast-food breakfast stop (not included) en route to Raystown Lake and no stop on the return trip home.
